Domondrick Greene was a habitual offender at Genesee County jail who happened to voluntarily join Motherly Intercession fatherhood program to help better himself. He soon realized this wasn’t the life he wanted any more nor the person he wanted to be. We noticed that Mr. Greene had qualities and characteristics that stood out. When he speaks you just want to listen, his ability to connect with others is amazing. We discussed the power he possesses should be used for positivity and leadership. Greene listened and initiated making change where he saw fit. Once he finished the Fatherhood class, we offered him a Co- facilitator position which he accepted. In this position he led lessons and helped his peers, excelling at his position. He led bible study in his pod and helped keep the violence down in the pod. Mr. Greene has made such a huge impact; he received over 140-character letters.

This 10-week program is for the fathers to attend after completing our F.O.C.U.S program. This Group helps the fathers prepare for re-entry. They focus on resources, goal setting, boundaries, resume building, work ethic, decision making and social emotional learning. We just completed our first group in October with a total of 10 fathers.
